So, even after all of the smack Mo’Nique talked last year about the Academy Awards, she ended up winning Best Supporting Actress for her role in PRECIOUS, and now she will stand alongside the president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, Tom Sherak and announce the nominees for the 2010 awards. On January 25th, Mo’Nique and Sherak will reveal 10 of the 24 nominated categories at 5:30 a.m. in front of the press. The 2010 Academy Awards will be televised on Sunday, February 27, 2011, on ABC and will take place at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center and will be televised to over 200 countries worldwide.
Of course, we at Flix66 consider the Oscars bigger than the NFL’s Superbowl and we’ll be waiting eagerly on the 25th of this month to hear the nominees. But since we won’t be rolling out of bed at the crazy hour of 5:30a.m., we won’t be able to witness Sherak and Mo’Nique make the announcement. We will however have the nominations available for your viewing pleasure shortly thereafter.
