Not shockingly, THE EXPENDABLES 2 has been properly promoted in San Diego this week at Comic-Con 2012 and on the panel was the former Governator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger. During his talk he let loose the news that he will indeed be re-teaming with Danny Devito and director Ivan Reitman in a sequel to the 1988 comedy TWINS, which followed Julius Benedict (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Vincent Benedict (Danny Devito). These twins were genetically altered and Julius received all the muscle and good looks while Vincent got everything that was left over. As mentioned before, a sequel is in the works but a writer has yet to be procured. It also sounds like Eddie Murphy might be on the marquee as well and this next film would be called TRIPLETS instead of Twins 2. Who knows if that will happen and how they’ll work it out, but right off it doesn’t sound terribly promising. No word on when this film will get off the ground, but Arnold Schwarzenegger has quite a few other projects lined up so don’t expect this one to hit theaters for awhile.
Arnold Schwarzenegger can of course be seen in THE EXPENDABLES 2 alongside: Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Chuck Norris, Jet Li and a bunch of other action stars. THE EXPENDABLES 2 hits theaters on August 17, 2012. (Deadline)
