James Franco gets Megan Fox, Seth Rogen and more to join Zeroville

There’s a saying in the business world that someone that takes on 10 projects will have 10 failures while someone that takes on 1 project at a time will have 1 success.  I always think about that when I think about James Franco.  The guy is oozing with talent, but he never seems to put enough focus into any one project to make it great.  But he’s just good enough to keep getting funds for new films and next on his list is ZEROVILLE.  And he’s called on all of his friends for this one and has assembled quite a cast. Seth Rogen, Jacki Weaver, Megan Fox, Will Ferrell, Danny McBride, Dave Franco, Craig Robinson, Joey King, Horatio Sanz and of course, his brother Dave Franco have all joined the film in some capacity with the most notable being Seth Rogen as a surfer hippie and Megan Fox as a femme fatale.  James Franco will be directing the film as well and production is scheduled to start soon.  The synopsis from the novel is below and this could go either way in terms of being really good or really bad.  It all boils down to how Franco puts it together.

The official synopsis of the Steve Erickson novel: Zeroville is a unique love letter to film. It centers on the story of Vikar, a young architecture student so enthralled with the movies that his friends call him “cinéautistic.” With an intensely religious childhood behind him, and tattoos of Elizabeth Taylor and Montgomery Clift on his head, he arrives in Hollywood where he’s mistaken for a member of the Charles Manson “family” and eventually scores a job as a film editor. Vikar discovers the frames of a secret film within the reels of every movie ever made, and sets about splicing them together—an undertaking that takes on frightening theological dimensions.
