Taken 2 starring Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace coming to Blu-ray in January

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the thriller TAKEN 2, from director Olivier Megaton and starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen and Leland Orser, will be available in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack on January 15th, 2013.

TAKEN 2 takes place in Istanbul, where our favorite retired CIA operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) gets kidnapped along with his wife (Famke Janssen) by the father of the guy who Mills killed when he kidnapped his daughter (Maggie Grace) in the first film. Of course we know Mills will get out of the situation by doing what he does best.

Even though it was a sequel that I was skeptical would work, TAKEN 2 did pretty fantastic at the box office bringing in over $283 million worldwide. I guess it’s not surprising because Liam Neeson’s character was so great in the first film that who wouldn’t want to see him take on some more bad guys. Since I didn’t see TAKEN 2 in theaters I’m curious to see it and find out if they left the ending open for yet another film in the franchise. Check out the trailer for TAKEN 2 below.
