Aside from maybe BATTLESHIP (which happens to be another Taylor Kitsch movie…), the film I’m most anxious t see perform at the box office is JOHN CARTER. The film doesn’t look bad and to be fair, it actually looks like it will be fun. But with rumors of a budget of more than $200 million and the incessant, tireless marketing from Disney, it’s hard not to get the feeling that the film won’t be the huge blockbuster the Mouse House is hoping for. But if it does fail, don’t blame the lack of advertising. I can’t go out to get something to eat without hearing about JOHN CARTER on the radio, on billboards, in the newspapers and just about everywhere else. Anyway, check out a 10 minute scene below, which appears to be in the very early stages of the film.
The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Thomas Hayden Church, Lynn Collins, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, Willem Dafoe and Samantha Morton. The Andrew Stanton (WALL-E) directed film hits theaters everywhere on March 9th, 2012.
