The Dark Knight Rises has a sad opening as mass shooting kills 12 people

It’s a very sad day in the movie world as upon waking we hear that in Aurora, CO a shooting took place at the midnight showing of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (read our review by clicking the link). According to police, a 24 year-old gunman opened fire in a full theater the first time Batman (Christian Bale) came on screen and was wearing a gas mask similar to the villain Bane (Tom Hardy). Carrying a rifle and handgun, the suspect spread tear gas before opening fire. With 12 deaths and 38 injuries, it’s nothing short of a tragedy and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES is the third and final Batman film from director Christopher Nolan and stars: Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. According to reports the midnight showing of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES brought in over $25 million during the midnight showings. (THR/THR)
