The Heat starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy coming to Blu-ray in October

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the summer buddy comedy THE HEAT (click the link to read the review), from director Paul Feig and starring Sandra Bullock, Melissa McCarthy, Demian Bichir, Marlon Wayans, Michael Rapaport and Jane Curtain, will be available in a Blu-ray combo pack on October 15, 2013.
Here’s the official synopsis for THE HEAT: Oscar Winner Sandra Bullock and Oscar Nominee Melissa McCarthy team up in this outrageously funny comedy from the director of Bridesmaids, Paul Feig. Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence–and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.’s “finest,” is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.
It would be no surprise if THE HEAT got a sequel in the next couple of years. Who knows, it may even start a nice trend in female buddy cop films.
