The Help, starring Emma Stone and Viola Davis, coming to Blu-ray in December

For me, THE HELP is easily the surprise hit of the summer.  It’s a surprise because I didn’t think there was any way a movie about race relations in the South during the 50’s would be appealing enough to American audiences to actually make a profit.  But it did, and in the process jumped to the forefront of the favorites during Awards season.  Not only that, audiences loved it as well, to the tune of $167 million worldwide.  In case you didn’t get a chance to catch in theaters this summer, the film is hitting Blu-ray on December 6th.

Special features on the disc include two deleted scenes, and “The Living Proof” music video by Mary J. Blige.  The Blu-ray will also have three exclusive features, including The Making of the Help featurette, In Their Own Words featurette and three additional deleted scenes not included on the DVD.  The Tate Taylor directed film stars Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Allison Janney, Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard.  Watch the trailer below.
