The Social Network, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale take home Critic's Choice Awards

Surprise, surprise! THE SOCIAL NETWORK has won the Best Picture award at the Critic’s Choice Awards which took place last night.  However, the big winner of the night was (in my opinion) the best film of last year, INCEPTION, which took home six awards including:Best Action Movie, Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction. Not surprisingly, Natalie Portman took home Best Actress for her crazy ballerina in BLACK SWAN and Colin Firth took home Best Actor for his stuttering portrayal of King George IV. And of course, David Fincher took home Best Director for THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Other winners include: Christian Bale as Best Supporting Actor for THE FIGHTER, Best Supporting Actress went to Melissa Leo for THE FIGHTER and THE FIGHTER won the Best Acting Ensemble.  Hailee Steinfeld took home the Best Young Actor/Actress for her role in TRUE GRIT and Best Animated Feature went to TOY STORY 3.

None of these are surprising and exactly what we all expected.  So if you are looking to enter a pool for the Academy Awards take a good look at this list when you’re making your selections.
