Thor 2 and Captain America 2 are now called Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Thor 2 and Captain America 2 are coming

Personally, I like numbering sequels.  It just makes things easier.  I thought Marvel agreed with me when they showed some early promo art for their planned sequels, THOR 2, CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 and IRON MAN 3.  But apparently those images meant nothing because today at Comic-Con, Marvel revealed that the titles of their sequels will be THOR: THE DARK WORLD and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.  IRON MAN 3 will remain unchanged.  Marvel also revealed the release dates for the films, with the Thor sequel hitting theaters on November 8th, 2013 and the Captain America Sequel following on April 4th, 2014.

The Thor sequel title doesn’t mean much to me, but the Captain America title pretty much tells you what the film is about since Captain America’s sidekick, Bucky Barnes, eventually becomes The Winter Soldier.  I guess Bucky didn’t die in the first one after all.  Other than the titles and the release dates, Marvel chief Kevin Feige dubbed these sequels “phase two”, which I assume are getting that label since THE AVENGERS has already hit theaters and they need to keep things going.  They still have a lot of work to do
