Thor: The Dark World may include some skirmishes with elves
During Comic-Con 2012 Marvel announced that THOR 2 would be called THOR: THE DARK WORLD, and today we may be revealing a clue as to who the villains could be. For those comic fans out there the title alone may have been enough to know who the villains in the next film are. However, the rest of us need a bigger hint and luckily today we got one. Stunt man James Grogan may have let a vital piece of info slip when he said in an interview, “The other day for example, this is quite random but I was working on Thor 2. I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,’ honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.” Hmmm, very interesting. Could it be the baddies in the next film will be the Dark Elves? Could be, but this could all be a diversion. We do know Mads Mikkelson will no longer be the villain so it’s possible.
According to the Wikipedia, the Dark Elves are based on elves of actual Norse legends. One of the, Algrim, was betrayed by the ruler Malekith the Accursed in an attempt to kill Thor. Algrim was dropped into lava and survived but was very wounded and someone called the Beyonder transformed him into Kurse who ends ups killing Malekith. I’m sure there’s more to it than that, so if you are a knowledgeable reader please comment below.
