Tim Burton's Frankenweenie receives a spooky logo

If you put a dog and a Frankenstein together you get FRANKENWEENIE! Does this sound frightening? It shouldn’t be. Actually it comes off cute more than anything.
During the Disney D23 event, a logo was unveiled for the Tim Burton film. It’s a frankenfied design, completely green and full of stitches. The animated film will use stop motion much like the beloved A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Unlike the 1993 film, this one will actually be directed by Burton. One of the most common misconceptions is that Burton actually directed CHRISTMAS when in fact he only created the story and characters. FRANKENWEENIE is derived from a concept from Burton and written by John August (BIG FISH).
The film started out as a short and gained new life through Disney. The story is a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous. Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer will provide voices for the characters.
