Tina Fey joins Jason Bateman in This Is Where I Leave You
I wouldn’t say that Seth MacFarlane “bombed” at the Oscars, but I think it’s safe to say that he didn’t go over very well with everyone in the audience. So the speculation immediately began about who will host next year’s awards and the first name on most people’s list was Tina Fey, who did a great job with her BFF Amy Poehler when they hosted the Golden Globes. Tina Fey quickly shot down that dream by sternly saying she would not host the Oscars. But if she’s not going to host awards shows full time, what’s she going to do now that her show ’30 Rock’ is off the air? Movies, of course. The poster child for cool, funny women everywhere has signed on to the dramedy THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU with Jason Bateman.
The film is about four siblings that try to make good on their father’s dying wish that they all spend a week together under the same roof. Tina Fey and Jason Bateman will be playing two of the siblings and the other parts are still open. The film will be directed by Shawn Levy and given the connections that Levy, Tina Fey and Jason Bateman have, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more big names join this film. THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU should start filming this summer. (THR)
