Tom Hardy replacing Michael Fassbender in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Not since Colin Farrell in TIGERLAND has a young actor been called “the next big thing” by so many people than Tom Hardy after INCEPTION. Given he’s had a few quality roles beforehand (I’m still itching to get a hold of BRONSON), he’s ripe to become a household name as soon as he gets a lead in a blockbuster. But before that, he’s going to be playing the role of ‘Tricky’ Ricky Tarr; a British operative in the thriller TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY. Hardy steps in for the departed Michael Fassbender, who dropped the project to focus on playing Magneto in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
Confirmed for the film are Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, Ciaran Hands, Jared Harris and Benedict Cumberbatch. The remaining question is whether or not Ralph Fiennes is still going to be starring in the film as previously announced since he wasn’t mentioned among the other cast members. Tomas Alfredsson will be directing the film, who recently directed the wonderful LET ME IN.
