Tom Hardy set to star in the video game adaptation of Splinter Cell
Apparently Tom Hardy wasn’t busy enough with his upcoming projects: MAX MAD: FURY ROAD, EVEREST and possibly ANIMAL RESCUE and THE LONG RED ROAD, so he’s decided to take on another film based on a popular video game you may have heard of. It was recently announced that the video game SPLINTER CELL was going to be making its way to the big screen, and now that Tom Hardy is attached it will probably move a little faster than first anticipated.
For those unfamiliar with the game SPLINTER CELL, it follows Sam Fisher (Tom Hardy), who is a covert operative that goes on various missions. The game has produced six different versions I believe, so we’re not really sure which of the story lines the film will cover. Thanks to Tom Hardy’s participation in SPLINTER CELL and Michael Fassbender’s involvement in ASSASSIN’S CREED, video game adaptations may start to get a little better than previous movies like MARIO BROS. or STREET FIGHTER.
