Trying to erase the memory of Cars 2, Pixar releases the trailer for Brave

Posted by: Brad Sturdivant

I don’t want to pile on the hate, but CARS 2 was such a shameless money grab that everyone at the studio has to be at least a little embarrassed this morning.  And that’s the only reason I can see for releasing the teaser trailer to their next film, BRAVE, the day after their recent film hit theaters.  And BRAVE looks like it will get the otherwise incredible studio back on track.  The film is set in Scotland and features Pixar’s first ever female heroine, Princess Merida.  After she mistakenly brings turmoil to her land, she sets out on an adventure to set things right.  As for the trailer itself, it looks to be on par with what we’ve seen from Pixar (other than CARS 2).  And for the record, I hate that now we have to include a footnote any time we talk about the great films of Pixar.

BRAVE features the voice work of Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters.  BRAVE hits theaters on June 22nd, 2012.
