Uma Thurman will join Shia LaBeouf in Lars Van Trier's the Nymphomaniac

Uma Thurman

Casting continues for Lars Van Trier’s upcoming erotic drama THE NYMPHOMANIAC, and even though the subject matter doesn’t seem like something that would appeal to a lot of Hollywood actors, the director has snagged some pretty decent talent. The latest actress to join the cast is Uma Thurman (KILL BILL) who has signed on for a role that is currently unknown. Even though Uma Thurman has been doing movies the last couple of years, we haven’t really seen her in anything major or mainstream so it’s nice to see her take on a bigger project.

Directed by Lars Van Trier’s, THE NYMPHOMANIAC follows a 50-year old woman (played by Charlotte Gainsbourg) who is beaten up in an alley and found by Seligman (Stellan Skarsgard) who takes her home and nurses her back to health. While she recovers she reveals her life story to Seligman as a self-proclaimed nymphomaniac, and the audience will get to see eight chapters of her life that include her sexual exploits. Uma Thurman will star alongside: Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen and Stacy Martin. There’s no release date for THE NYMPHOMANIAC, but we’ll probably see it in theaters late 2013 or early 2014. (THR)
