Warner Bros. wants Leonardo DiCaprio for the assassin film Satori

Leonardo DiCaprio is at a point in his career where virtually every director wants him to star in every movie they make. So news that Warner Bros. wants DiCaprio to star in one of their films isn’t complete surprise, but it’s worth noting because Leo does have a long history with WB. If WB gets their way, Leonardo DiCaprio will play an assassin in their film SATORI. This is also noteworthy because SATORI is more than just another assassin film. The movie will be based on the book of the same name by Don Winslow and is about a man born in Japan and trained in martial arts, but when he kills his master out of an act of devotion, he’s thrown in jail. The CIA comes to the rescue, but only sets him free to team him up with a beautiful French woman who trains him to be an assassin to kill a Russian commissioner in Japan.
Oh, and eventually, he has to go on the run and hide out in 1950’s Vietnam while virtually every government agency around tries to kill him. Sounds like a good time, huh? But seriously, with Leo in the lead and with the right director, this could be an incredible film. Shane Salerno and Winslow will team up to write the script. Expect official casting announcements soon.
