Warner Bros. wants Tom Cruise to join Beyonce in Clint Eastwood's A Star Is Born
It’s halftime, Clint Eastwood and your long gestating remake of A STAR IS BORN has been passed over by Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr., Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale among others. Do you give up, or do you keep fighting? Well, if you’re Clint Eastwood, you keep fighting and so yet another A-list male lead is being chased by WB to star in the fourth remake of a film that absolutely no one wants to see. Tom Cruise is a good choice for any film, but I’m surprised they would even try him since he’s notoriously picky about scripts and projects. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL firmly planted him back on the A-list, so he doesn’t need something like this for his career.
Beyonce has been attached to the film for a couple of years now and it seems now that she’s had her baby, she’s ready to do the film. Cruise can next be seen crooning away in Adam Shankman’s ROCK OF AGES, which hits theaters later this year.
