Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom acquires distributor, so we get to see Bill Murray in another film

I don’t think Wes Anderson’s next film MOONRISE KINGDOM was in any real danger of never getting distribution, but we can all rest easier knowing that Focus Features picked up the rights for world distribution and will be showing audiences another potentially charming character-filled film. MOONRISE KINGDOM is set in a small New England town during the 1960’s. When a pair of love birds (played by Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward) decide to take off and leave town without telling anyone, everyone gets into a kerfuffle. A search begins with the town sheriff (Bruce Willis) leading the way with the help of the young girls’ parents (Bill Murray and Frances McDormand) and a local camp leader (Edward Norton). The film also stars Jason Schwartzman and Tilda Swinton and should open in theaters sometime next year.

Maybe participating in MOONRISE KINGDOM will give Murray that little push he needs to read the script for GHOSTBUSTERS 3. It’s not that I care one way or the other (unless they bring back the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, I love that guy) but I’d just like to see the project move forward or end peacefully. You smelling what I’m stepping in?

Wes Anderson
