Whitney Houston: 1963-2012
Singer and actress Whitney Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills Hilton hotel room this afternoon at the age of 48. The cause of death is still unknown at this point and the full details surrounding her death are still being investigated. Whitney will be remembered most for her work as a pop icon, recording such hits as ‘The Greatest Love of All’, ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ and ‘How Will I Know’, but she found unparalleled success in 1992 when she starred in and recorded the soundtrack to THE BODYGUARD. That led to her biggest single, her cover of Dolly Parton’s hit ‘I Will Always Love You’, which was #1 for an astounding 14 weeks.
Along with THE BODYGUARD, Whitney found success on the big screen with starring roles in WAITING TO EXHALE and THE PREACHER’S WIFE among others. Unfortunately, Whitney suffered from drug addiction in the early 2000’s and her career subsequently plummeted. She made a few attempts at coming back, but was unable to find success again before her untimely death.
