Will Ferrell and Adam McKay might Swear to God

The dynamic comic duo of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (who previously teamed on ANCHORMAN and STEP BROTHERS among others) might team up again for the comedy SWEAR TO GOD from DUE DATE writers Alan Cohen and Alan Freedland. The comedy is described as a “buddy film” about a “narcissistic hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God.” I’m not sure where the buddy element comes in, but I’m hoping Ferrell uses this as a chance to work with someone new and someone that can play off of him well. The idea was pitched Cohen and Freedland and was quickly picked up by Warner Brothers. If McKay and Ferrell agree, they would produce under their Gary Sanchez Productions.
It’s tough to tell how this will play out since we don’t know much about the plot, but the idea of combining “hedge fund manager” and “seeing God” kind of puts me off. I can’t handle any more films related to the financial crisis and it’s tough to combine religion and comedy. Hopefully we’ll get some more details soon.
