When news first broke that Will Ferrell and his Gary Sanchez Productions were going to be doing a Spanish language comedy, it had a lot of people scratching their heads. But for those that like Will Ferrell, it’s a great opportunity for him to create another memorable character. I was skeptical in the beginning, but after watching the trailer for Casa De Mi Padre (HOUSE OF MY FATHER), you can consider me officially intrigued. I don’t know what it is, but watching Will Ferrell speak Spanish and act crazy is just plain funny. It also looks like they’re having a lot of fun with it and that could go a long way in making it funny.
The plot (not that it matters in a Will Ferrell movie) is about a rancher (Ferrell) who falls for his younger brother’s wife. Along with Will Ferrell, the film stars Genesis Rodriguez, Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, who are always great together. No release date has been set, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s announced.
