Woody Harrelson not sure about doing a sequel to Zombieland

The 2009 sleeper hit ZOMBIELAND was one of those rare comedies where the stars aligned and everything just came together flawlessly. I don’t think I’m in the minority when I say I strongly believe there should not be a sequel, after all Woody Harrelson agrees with me. He gave a little statement about his involvement with the first film and a few thoughts on a potential sequel. He says:

I didn’t even want to read the script… Then as it turns out, I read the script and I thought it was phenomenal, really funny…Usually, if I theoretically reject it, I’m right, but this one I was dead wrong. And it might be the first movie I do a sequel to… I’m sure it will happen if everyone does it, but I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do…I don’t feel like a sequels guy.

Go with your gut Mr. Harrelson. There’s a very real possibility that a sequel to ZOMBIELAND could bomb as much as it would be a hit. And really, should Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone return and do a sequel after their ridiculous amount of success this past year? I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the Hollywood cogs turn out.
