Xavier Samuel and Sam Worthington catch some waves in the new Drift trailer
It’s been over six months since we’ve heard anything about the Sam Worthington film DRIFT, but today we’re finally getting a trailer and even though I watched it twice I can’t really tell you what was going on because I was in a trance due to those Australian accents. DRIFT is based on the true story of Jimmy Kelly (Xavier Samuel) and his brother Andy Kelly (Myles Pollard), two surfers who basically kick-started the modern surf industry in the 1970s. When Jimmy heads towards a life of crime to bail his family out of financial debt, Andy steps in leaving his career behind so the brothers can start a business to promote Jimmy’s surfing inventions. Thrown into the mix is their photographer friend JB (Sam Worthington) and his friend Lani (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Sadly, DRIFT still doesn’t have a US release date, but keep an eye out for it in the next year or so.
Directed by Morgan O’Neill and Ben Nott, DRIFT stars: Xavier Samuel, Sam Worthington, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Robyn Malcolm, Sean Keenan, Myles Pollard and Steve Bastoni. Check out the new trailer below.
