Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman give their best southern accents in the new The Paperboy trailer
A new trailer for director Lee Daniels’ film THE PAPERBOY has just been released and it looks alright. It will probably require a couple of viewings in order to get past the southern accents all the actors are speaking in but there’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack and Matthew McConaughey do a pretty decent job staying in those accents, though we’ll give final judgment when we actually see the full film.
THE PAPERBOY is based on the novel by Pete Dexter and follows a journalist (Matthew McConaughey) and his younger brother (Zack Efron) who are looking into a potentially wrongful conviction of a death row inmate (John Cusack), which was brought to the journalist’s attention by the inmates girlfriend (Nicole Kidman). Apparently THE PAPERBOY didn’t get the best of reviews at the Cannes Film Festival, but check out the trailer below and make your own judgment. THE PAPERBOY hits theaters on October 5th, 2012.
