Zac Efron in Charlie St. Cloud trailer

The first thing that stuck out to me in the new trailer for CHARLIE ST. CLOUD is Zac Efron trying to pitch a baseball. Yeah, the film looks depressing and yes, it even looks pretty decent. But Efron trying to teach a kid how to pitch a baseball just doesn’t seem to work. Other than that, I have to give the former HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL star some credit because he looks like he might be a genuine actor. In this, he plays a guy that can’t get past the death of his little brother, who died in a car crash while he was driving. Pretty heavy stuff and if you go see it in theaters, make sure you bring a box of tissues.
Burr Steers is directing, who last directed Efron in 17 AGAIN, which also wasn’t bad. Along with Efron, the film stars Kim Basinger, Amanda Crew, Donal Logue and Charlie Tahan. It hits theaters on October 15th.
