Zac Efron will star in the Tom Hanks produced film Parkland
You may remember way back in August when we reported that Tom Hanks was producing a film about the JFK assassination called PARKLAND. Well, news is heating up as today it’s been reported that Zac Efron (THE PAPERBOY, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL) has signed on to join the film and will portray Dr. Charles ‘Jim’ Carrico. For those familiar with the infamous assassination, Dr. Carrico was one of the general surgery residents at the hospital when President Kennedy was brought in from his gunshot wound to the head. Dr. Carrico’s name is often mentioned in reference to the exit wound. Zac Efron will be joining a pretty fantastic cast that includes: Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton and Jacki Weaver. Shooting should start in Austin, TX fairly soon, as Tom Hanks and the studio are hoping to get this film out to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the assassination which took place on November 22, 1963.
Zac Efron has a short list of upcoming projects that include: ARE WE OFFICIALLY DATING?, THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU, TOWNIES and YOU BELONG TO ME, all of which are either in pre-production except for ARE WE OFFICIALLY DATING? which is currently filming. (Playlist)
