Since transitioning from singer/musician to actor is such a common occurrence these days, it’s no surprise that Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine has decided to make the leap himself. Lucky for him, he’s boarding a film with some pretty talented actors (Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo) as well as a director who is known for succeeding in meshing film and music together in the form of John Carney (ONCE).
CAN A SONG SAVE YOUR LIFE? follows a singer (Keira Knightley) who moves to New York City and is dumped by her boyfriend (Adam Levine) so he can pursue his own solo career. While singing at a local bar, Ms. Knightley’s character is discovered by a down-on-his luck record producer (Mark Ruffalo) who eventually falls for the singer. Oh, and Mark Ruffalo’s character will also have a daughter who is being played by Hailee Steinfeld (TRUE GRIT). Production for CAN A SONG SAVE YOUR LIFE should start production this summer and we’ll keep you posted when we have more information. (Deadline)
