No, Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood and Danny McBride aren’t going to be playing the rapping trio in a full length movie, but they will be playing them in a short film from Adam Yauch. Details are still sketchy at this point, but Yauch’s film is said to be about the making of their iconic ‘Fight For Your Right’ music video. They’ve creatively titled their short FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHT REVISITED. I’m not sure how great a film you can make about making a cheesy 80’s video, but he apparently is going to have real actors portraying the people involved rather than go with the documentary style, which helps.
The short film stars Seth Rogen, Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Jack Black, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. The short will be shown at Sundance next year and who knows when it will be shown to general audiences. Sometimes short films are nearly impossible to see outside of the film circuit. My guess is that this will show up on the Blu-ray of a Will Ferrell movie.
