The indie comedy GOATS is a project that has been in the works for awhile and now has a confirmed cast and director. The film follows a young man named Ellis (Graham Phillips) who at the young age of fourteen, is getting ready to go to boarding school on the East coast. He will be leaving behind his mother (Vera Farmiga) and his father figure, whom he called Goat Man (David Duchovny). Goat Man has taught Ellis all he knows, even the joys of mind altering drugs. When Ellis goes to school, he continues to get high but learns lessons that make him question his relationship with Goat Man. Will Arnett will play Farmiga’s boyfriend and Minne Driver will play her best friend. Keri Russell will play the wife to Ellis’ biological father Ty Burrell. The film will be directed by Christopher Neil and will begin shooting next month.
Coming of age tales are always fun and I have to admit that ever since Showtime’s show CALIFORNICATION, I have become a huge fan of David Duchovny’s. His dry sense of humor and ability to make a joke with a straight face kills me.
