Clash of the Titans sequel moving forward with Sam Worthington

After the success of CLASH OF THE TITANS, I got the uneasy feeling in my stomach that they’d look to make a sequel. Even though it wouldn’t make much sense and it would be nothing more than a shameless ploy to capitalize on the original, we knew a sequel was coming. Today we learn that Warner Brothers has hired David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau to start working on the screenplay for CLASH OF THE TITANS 2, which WB is looking to fast track. They also need a director, since we do know that Louis Leterrier will not be returning.

It has been reported for a while now that everyone involved is expected to reprise their roles, including Sam Worthington, Gemma Arterton and Liam Neeson. I doubt they signed multi-picture deals, so I’m not convinced they’re returning. It seems odd that Worthington would go back and do a sequel to the worst movie he’s been in so far. But I guess if the money is right, it’d be hard to say no.
