Will FRIGHT NIGHT be as good as the original? That has yet to be answered, but the film will land at Comic-Con this month with the stars in tow.
The trailer for the film gave a more modernized take on the material, adding little pop culture jabs like the one about TWILIGHT. Jerry Dandridge (Colin Farrell) now wears a wife beater and Charley (Anton Yelchin) doesn’t look like so much of a jock. There’s also a significant change in the character of Peter Vincent (David Tennant) who went from over the top fake vampire hunter to a magician whose a cross between Criss Angel and a rockstar. Each actor shows up in these new character posters along with Imogen Poots who for some reason has a giant photoshopped head.
Synopsis: Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all–he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right– yet no one, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), seems to notice! After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.
