Academy Award winners Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are planning on re-teaming for THE TRADE, a film that follows two New York Yankee baseball players, Mike Kekich (to be played by Damon) and Fritz Peterson (to be played by Affleck) who decided to swap wives and families back and forth in the early 1970’s. Fritz Peterson ended up staying with Kekich’s wife and they are still married, but Kekich isn’t too keen on bringing up this part of his past as he has remarried and moved to another location. There’s not a whole lot he can do, but without cooperation from him as well as other players during that time (who are also not willing to cooperate) the film may have a few more hurdles to hop over and the story may not be as accurate as they originally anticipated.
Right now Damon, Affleck and younger brother Casey Affleck are working on rewrites of the script. Since both actors are busy this year with other projects, THE TRADE probably won’t start production until 2012.
