Michael Fassbender has no shortage of upcoming projects on his to-do list, but now it looks like one of his films has made some significant casting changes. According to reports, it looks like Colin Firth has replaced Sean Penn in the film GENIUS, which until now I had not really heard too much about so this news isn’t too Earth shattering. GENIUS is based on a non-fiction novel called “Max Perkins: Editor of Genius” by A. Scott Berg and focuses on the relationship between Max Perkins and Thomas Wolfe who was a writer. Apparently, Max Perkins helped Wolfe with his novels by giving him nudges in the editing department, but their relationship had a falling out when Wolfe thought that Perkins was getting too much credit for the success of Wolfe’s work.
GENIUS will be directed by Michael Grandage and Michael Fassbender will play Thomas Wolfe while Colin Firth will take on the role of Max Perkins. Production is supposed to start in 2014 so stay tuned for more news on that front. (Playlist)
