Way back in 2010 we got news that big screen sweetheart Amy Adams had signed on to portray musical legend Janis Joplin in a film called GET IT WHILE YOU CAN. At the time the film was going to be directed by Fernando Meirelles (CITY OF GOD), then he dropped off and Sean Durkin (MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE) was attached with a different actress (Renee Zellweger) in the lead, but now Amy Adams is back and the director that will now take on the story is Lee Daniels (PRECIOUS, THE PAPERBOY and THE BUTLER). According to sources, production for the film is actually hoping to start sometime next year but there is nothing definite yet. There still seems to be a lot of speculation surrounding this project, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
Amy Adams can be seen next in the films LULLABY, HER and MAN OF STEEL, all of which should be hitting theaters next year. (THR)
