Screenwriter and director Akiva Goldsman (I AM LEGEND and CINDERELLA MAN) is rounding up cast for his next film WINTER’S TALE and today it appears he has added Matt Bomer (MAGIC MIKE) as well as Eva Marie Saint and Lucy Griffiths. WINTER’S TALE is based on the novel by Mark Helprin and follows a thief (Colin Farrell) who while breaking into a man’s (William Hurt) home, becomes attracted to and starts a relationship with his daughter (Jessica Findlay-Brown) who is terminally ill. The plot also involves a flying horse, reincarnation and some kind of 100-year time shift. Matt Bomer and Lucy Griffiths will play the parents of Colin Farrell, but we’re not sure what role Eva Marie Saint will play. Since WINTER’S TALE is still in the pre-production phase, we can expect more casting news in the next couple of weeks and maybe hear of a release date sometime next year.
Matt Bomer can be seen next in THE NORMAL HEART which won’t start shooting for awhile longer, and then in a few years we may see him in MAGIC MIKE 2. (Deadline)
