Gina Gershon, Danny Glover and Robert Patrick are set to help Turkish writer/director Mahsun Kimizigul usher in his first English language film, FIVE MINARETS IN NEW YORK. The film is about the wife of a Turkish scholar that is arrested by federal authorities after being accused of a crime she didn’t commit. Gina Gershon will be playing the wife, but no word on what roles Glover and Patrick will have, although if history provides any indicator, Robert Patrick will be playing a federal agent of some sort.
Indie films are always fun to read about, but the actual delivered product can sometimes fail to live up to the promise. My question with this one is with Gina Gershon, who I typically like, but I don’t really see her in this type of role.
