Jennifer Garner bringing Miss Marple back to Hollywood

Disney has finally acquired the rights to Agatha Christie’s most famous character Miss Marple, and they are working with producer Jennifer Garner on a big screen adaptation. The film will be more of a “contemporary version” as in not set back in the 1920’s and 30’s like the books were, but there’s no word on whether or not Miss Marple will still be the older lady known for knitting (who doesn’t love a knitter?) and weeding her garden, or a younger more hip version of Christie’s character. A screenwriter has been acquired in the form of Mark Frost and really that’s all the information we have at the time. So keep an eye out Miss Marple fans, she’s coming back to Hollywood.

I’ve never read any of the Miss Marple books but I do hope they keep her as an older lady instead of using, oh say Jennifer Garner as a younger version of the character. That may just make a lot of Agatha Christie fans angry.
