Brad Pitt seemed to be flying under the radar for the last couple of years doing only MEGAMIND in 2010 and INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS in 2009, luckily he’s back in the saddle and has lined up a series of films (MONEYBALL and WORLD WAR Z to just name two) that may include the upcoming adaptation of THE GRAY MAN. Written by Mark Greaney, the film is based on the first book in a series and is being described as follows: “Court Gentry is known as The Gray Man – a legend in the covert realm, moving silently from job to job, accomplishing the impossible, and then fading away. And he always hits his target. But there are forces more lethal than Gentry in the world. And in their eyes, Gentry has just outlived his usefulness. Now, he is going to prove that for him, there’s no gray area between killing for a living – and killing to stay alive.” No word on when production would start or if Brad Pitt will sign on.
Even though I think this would be a great role for Brad Pitt, I have a tough time believing that he would take it, especially if it’s going to be turned into a franchise. Mr. Pitt is at the level where he wants to take the roles that he wants when he wants them and I don’t see him holing himself into a three film deal. However, stranger things have happened.
