Virtually all of the major roles in Quentin Tarantino’s DJANGO UNCHAINED have been cast, so now we just have to clean up the casting of some of the smaller parts in what is sure to be a very controversial film. The latest to join the film are rapper turned actor RZA and FROZEN RIVER star Misty Upham. RZA will be playing Thaddeus, a violent slave working on a plantation in Mississippi. Upham will be playing Minnie, a trading post bar owner. Both roles are pretty small, but they’re also pretty important to the overall story. RZA is a known kung-fu enthusiast, so I’m sure he and Tarantino will enjoy discussing their mutual love on set.
DJANGO UNCHAINED so far stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Foxx, Kurt Russell, Christoph Waltz, Don Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Gerald McRaney, Anthony Lapaglia, Kerry Washington, Dennis Christopher, Laura Cayouetteand Michael K. Williams. The film arrives on December 25th, 2012.
