Paul Verhoeven's Starship Troopers is getting a reboot

Usually if a remake comes out, we complain that the original was too good to be replicated. But what if the original is super cheesy? Producer Neal Moritz is looking to reboot 1997s STARSHIP TROOPERS.

This is sort of a weird project to remake. The film which was directed by Paul Verhoeven was obviously not that great but it’s actually very entertaining. Hey, even bad movies have their good qualities. TROOPERS was adapted, well sort of, adapted from the Robert A. Heinlein novel. Most of those who do not like the adaptation feel this way because it is far attached from the original material. It was 1997 and Paul Verhoeven was directing…they had to know this would be a little corny.

X-MEN: FIRST CLASS writers Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz have been hired to write the script for the remake. I wonder what Casper Van Dien thinks.
