Geoffrey Rush lending his voice to the Green Lantern

Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush will be lending his voice for the upcoming film GREEN LANTERN, which also stars: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgarad, Mark Strong and Tim Robbins. Rush will voice the character of Tomar-Re (currently he’s not listed in the cast) who is a scientist who works alongside Ryan Reynolds character in the Green Lantern Corps. Tomar-Re is not the most attractive of creatures but at least he will have a nice voice. There’s also a possibility that Michael Clarke Duncan will voice the character Kilowog but that hasn’t been confirmed by the studio. GREEN LANTERN opens in theaters on June 17, 2011.

I’m not sure I can recall a film based on a popular comic book character that has received so much criticism like GREEN LANTERN has. I suppose we’ve had such good films based on our favorite comic characters that anything less is unacceptable for audiences. But seriously folks, Christopher Nolan can’t take on every superhero film even though we’d love for him to.
