Disney's Snow White film Order of the Seven gets a director

Posted by: Zack Bruce

Another SNOW WHITE film? Wow. I think two will be enough with SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN and Relativity’s untitled SNOW WHITE film.

Disney has been secretly planning their own live-action version of the fairytale titled, ORDER OF THE SEVEN. The script by Michael Arndt (TOY STORY 3) will focus on, “the seven are a 19th century-set disparate band of international warriors belonging to a centuries-old order who have lost their way. Their meeting with an Englishwoman being chased by an ancient evil is the catalyst for their redemption. While the project is set in China, the warriors will be from locales near (the U.S.) and far (Russia), and each warrior will have a unique fighting style.” The dwarves are more of the center of the story with the facts of the tale are minimized to make way for the action.

Michael Gracey, a commercial director as well as animator, has been hired to direct the film. Francis Lawrence (I AM LEGEND) was set for awhile, but moved on.
