G.I. Joes fans can take another look at one of the main characters, Storm Shadow (played by Lee Byong-Hun), in the upcoming sequel G.I. JOE RETALIATION. It’s tough to tell what the G.I. Joe sequel is really about, all we really know is that a Cobra spy,named Zartan (played by Arnold Vosloo), has had most of the Joes killed off and the rest have to get back together to take some revenge. Yup, the plot is really that simple and straight forward. However, if you are watching G.I. JOE RETALIATION for the plot then you are probably not going to enjoy the movie. In fact, I think it’s safe to say this will be an almost completely action driven film. Hardcore fans will probably be watching for the stand-off between whomever Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes take on. At least those are the two popular characters in my household, to each their own.
The film stars Channing Tatum as Duke, Dwayne Johnson as Road Block, Ray Park as Snake Eyes, Lee Byong-Hun as Storm Shadow, Elodie Yung as Jinx, Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye, D.J. Cortona as Flint, Ray Stevenson as Firefly, Arnold Vosloo as Zartan, Eddie Hargitay as Tunnel Rat and Bruce Willis as General Joe Colton. Jon M. Chu is directing the film that hits theaters on August 10th, 2012.
Storm Shadow is entertaining enough, but this writer is looking forward to watching Bruce Willis as General Joe. Long time readers will know that I have a soft spot for Mr. Willis and Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes or Road Block will be probably be overshadowed by General Joe. Even though I’m not always behind all of Mr. Willis’ film choices (SET UP anyone), I’ll defend him and have faith that he will make G.I. JOE RETALIATION ten times better than G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA, which wasn’t as bad as everyone made it out to be. (Stark Industries)
