Bill Murray will officially not be appearing in Ghostbusters 3
Anyone who’s been following the gestation of the upcoming GHOSTBUSTERS 3 know that Bill Murray was one of the reasons the film was halted. Now everyone can rest easy as it has been confirmed today by fellow actor Dan Aykroyd that Bill Murray will most definitely not be involved in GHOSTBUSTERS 3. It sounds like the Ghostbusting torch is officially being handed off to a new generation as well, Aykroyd says, “It’s sad but we’re passing it on to a new generation. GHOSTBUSTERS 3 can be a successful movie without Bill (Murray). My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn’t seem to be coming and we have to move on. It’s time to make the third one.” It’s unfortunate, but Bill Murray probably knows that no matter how good the intentions are, revisiting the past just doesn’t always work out like one plans.
So that moves us on to the guessing game. Who do you think should be involved in the new generation of Ghostbusters? The actors/actresses chosen have to have comedy chops and good chemistry. Since I’m such a giver I’ll throw out some options and you can chime in with your choices. I think Andy Samberg would be a great addition as well as Bill Hader. Oh, and because I would love to see a female Ghostbuster how about Rashida Jones, Mila Kunis or Emma Stone all three have had success in comedy. Thoughts? (Metro)
