Friends Mania Continues, Now With Central Perk Coffee

It might have been more than 18 years since the last episode of ‘Friends’ hit the airwaves, but it feels like people might be more into the show now than they were in the show’s heyday. Even I have to admit that ‘Friends’ is a comfort go-to for my wife and I and even after so many years, I still find myself laughing through the episodes.
Of course, corporate America wouldn’t be doing its job if it wasn’t trying to capitalize on the craze and now you can purchase your very own ‘Friends’ inspired coffee, courtesy of CentralPerk.com. They have several “flavors” to choose from, including “Pivot blend”, “How you doin’ blend” and “We were on a coffee break blend”. To celebrate, the fine folks at Central Perk sent us some of the “How you doin’ blend” coffee to try out.
My initial impression is that this coffee is great for super fans of the show that happen to be very casual coffee drinkers. The packaging is fun and if you’re not a coffee snob, you’ll appreciate the presentation. I put it on the level of Folgers or Maxwell House. If you find that statement insulting, then this coffee is definitely not for you.
But, I should confess that I’ve reached new levels of coffee snob-dom over the years. We invested in a high end coffee maker and we enjoy finding local roasters that make small batch, unique blend, premium coffee. We always grind the beans ourselves and it has become a bit of a hobby/passion of ours. So, if those statements sound terrible to you, then you might enjoy this coffee.
