David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse join Colin Farrell in Fright Night

It’s not enough that the upcoming comedy FRIGHT NIGHT is another in the overflowing influx of vampire movies, but it also happens to be a remake of the old Roddy McDowell film.  So it doesn’t exactly have a lot going for it right now.  But at least they’re trying to make things better by hiring some good actors.  The film stars Anton Yelchin as a teen convinced his neighbor (Colin Farrell) is a vampire.  Christopher Mintz-Plasse will play Yelchin’s nerdy friend that joins the vampire’s coven and Toni Collette will play Yelton’s skeptical mom.  Doctor Who’s David Tennant will play a Las Vegas magician that they seek out for help in dealing with the vampire.

I like the cast and I like the basic premise, but I would have liked it more five years ago.  I’m just so jaded by the vampire movies and TV shows that anything from this point forward with vampires in it pretty much loses me.
