Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Day-Lewis and The Master take the top honors from the Kansas City Film Critics Circle

Jennifer Lawrence in The Silver Linings Playbook

As a member of the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, I’m proud to announce the winners for our Loutzenheiser 2012 film awards at the 46th annual meeting on Dec.16th. Overall, I’m fairly pleased with the selections from our 31 members, even though I didn’t feel passionately about many of the films this year. However, it should be noted that Paul Thomas Anderson’s THE MASTER was not my first choice, which managed to nab three awards, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Screenplay. Otherwise, the love was spread around quite a bit with Anne Hathaway winning by the biggest margin of victory for her supporting work in LES MISERABLES. LIFE OF PI was a close competitor in many categories finally winning in the Best Director category for Ang Lee. I am very happy with Jennifer Lawrence’s Best Actress win for her work in SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK and my first picks winning in all the smaller categories. Go to Page 2 for the full list of winners.
