Joss Whedon gives a hint at what's in store for The Avengers 2

The Avengers

Director Joss Whedon gave us one of the most successful and, what could be argued, one of the best superhero films this year in THE AVENGERS. So thankfully Marvel Studios did something right and hired Joss Whedon back to not only direct the sequel, but to oversee any Marvel films that have the Avengers characters in them for the next three years. In an interview, Joss Whedon stressed that he didn’t want to be the guy that the directors dreaded just because he had the final say, and he also gave a little hint at what’s in store for THE AVENGERS 2. Joss Whedon said, “The creation of the team is not the happy ending. It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I’m digging, just twist that knife. And that’s exciting for me.” Fans of Joss Whedon may cringe a little at this statement since the director/writer is known for killing off (or maiming) beloved characters in his projects, and though I’m sure he won’t be allowed to do that in the Marvel universe who knows what other evil plots he has planned. Though whatever is in store is sure to be exciting.

Directed by Joss Whedon, THE AVENGERS 2 will have our favorite heroes returning to the big screen and will star: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Samuel L. Jackson. THE AVENGERS 2 is set to open in theaters on May 1st, 2015. (24 Hours)
